Utah is one of the most picturesque states full of incredible landscapes and diverse natural beauty. Home to some of the most stunning national parks and monuments, Utah is home to the mighty Arches National Park. Known for its majestic sandstone arches, dazzling landscape and incredible views the park is the perfect destination, no matter if you are traveling with your family or group of friends. With so many amazing things to do in Arches National Park like hiking, camping, sightseeing, admiring the wildlife and exploring the nearby attractions, it’s no wonder that this park is one of the top Utah destinations.
1. Delicate Arch
A trip to Arches National Park wouldn’t be complete without seeing one of the most iconic formations – the Delicate Arch. Located in a natural bowl shaped area surrounded by red sandstone walls, Delicate Arch stands alone and towers above the rest of the park at over 50-feet high. It is the perfect spot to watch the sunset and is the most photographed landmark in the park. While it can be slightly difficult to reach the arch, the view is worth it.
2. Courthouse Towers
Head to the iconic Courthouse Towers for some amazing panoramic views of the entire park. Located in the heart of the main area, the 450-feet tall towers are some of the tallest formations in the park. The towers were formed from the Earth’s sedimentary deposits that have formed layers of red, orange and yellow rocks. Take a break from hiking and enjoy the picturesque views of the park from this popular viewpoint.
3. Tower Arch
Tower Arch is one of the largest natural arches in the entire park. Impressively measuring over 100-feet tall and 96-feet wide, this arch is a truly breathtaking sight. While it is a short distance from the Park’s Welcome Center, it is recommended to take a car to the arch as you’ll be able to take in the beautiful scenery from the comfort of your car seat. From the arch, you can also admire the nearby sandstone formations and the surrounding canyons.
4. Balanced Rock
Located in the prominent Windows area, Balanced Rock is 135-foot tall sandstone tower that will instantly mesmerize everyone. As the name implies, the rock looks like it is balanced on the edge that makes it the perfect backdrop for a photo-op session. Keep in mind that the rock is accessible via an easy 0.3-mile loop trail, which makes it great for kids and all ages.
